I have jumped to our last 2011 wedding for no other reason than the fact that we still have some of their decorations up...and many of you have seen them...and as a result may be curious as to how the rest of it turned out....

Note - if you can - the table in the centre of the picture (its not as clear as I would have liked it because a camera setting was off). Eldon and Natalie had a children's table in the centre of the room. Colouring books and brown paper on top of the red overlays gave them ample real estate to express themselves...and for the 16 children it worked very well.
I took these pictures before the ceremony (which happened in the Sheep shed). Note there are no centre pieces on the tables

All the centre pieces had been used to line the aisle in the Sheep shed

and it worked very well. After the ceremony we moved them all up to the barn again - it marked the first time centre pieces had done that kind of double-duty here. Moving on, as guests came in after the ceremony they were greeted with an open bar but there were very specific conditions in place. The bride and groom had requested a range of craft brewery beers to be served as the only beer choices before dinner. Guests had a wide range of other choices (in other than beer categories) but if they wanted a beer it was going to be St Amboise Oat Meal Stout , a range of Churchkey products in 1.8 litre jugs or a range of Barley Days beers from light to brown to very dark...and the beers moved well.
We welcomed Earl and Angelo's as caterer for the evening. Freshly prepared foods BBQ'd onsite were very well recieved. Now as a side note - recently one of you contacted them but were unable to make any headway setting up a meeting. Jon called just yesterday and apologized - they are being run off their feet this fall with both the restaurant and a burgeoning catering business. His hope is that potential clients will contact them Monday or Tuesday's before 11 AM or better yet, if you can wait, until after Christmas. We think the wait just might be worth it...as it most certainly is with Occasions and East and Main should you try to contact them on a busy day as well.
Cards were laid out for each guest to pick up and find their seats at tables named after various farm animals

and the evening progressed without a hitch. Hmm you may want to note that virtually all of the planning for this wedding happened within 2 weeks of the event. For example, the DJ learned he was doing the job just days before the event ..BUT it was/is possible - a little bit frenzied but certainly possible. As the Sadie's played the first dance of the evening it had all come together albeit with a fair extra push from Lynne...ultimately all that last minute running about had faded away as the music was stilled for the season at 1 AM

So - all our best goes out to Eldon and Natalie
